International News: 29-year-old Mohammad Nizamuddin of the Mahbubnagar district of Telangana died in a police firing in the US. His family informed us of this on Thursday. Nizamuddin was working as a software professional at Santa Clara, California. The family said the incident took place on 3 September, when there was a fight between Nizamuddin and his roommate. His father, Mohammad Hasanuddin, said that he received the news of the son's death through a friend. The exact cause of the incident is not clear yet.

Minor dispute increased difficulty

According to the family, the quarrel started with small talk, but the circumstances soon became serious. Hasanuddin, Foreign Minister S.K. A letter to Jaishankar appealed for help to send the son's body to India. He said, "I don't know why the police shot him."

Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjad Ullah Khan also shared the appeal of the family in the media and requested the government to intervene.

What did the police say?

Santa Clara Police Chief Corey Morgan said that the officials received information about the incident at 6:18 am. According to the police, Nizamuddin was standing with a knife and threatening to attack. When the officials entered the house, they were immediately rushed to the hospital but later died.

Police said that in the initial investigation, it seems that the officer's action stopped further loss and saved at least one life. Two knives were recovered from the scene of the incident.

Family response

Nizamuddin worked as a software professional after completing his MS studies in the US. His father said that the family is deeply shocked by this incident and wants the son's body to be brought to India as soon as possible.

Investigation and further action

The police chief said that the quarrel had increased between two roommates. When the officer arrived, the situation was serious. Currently the investigation is on, and the police have not yet made more details public. At present, efforts of family and Indian officials are going on to bring Nizamuddin's body safe to India.
